Be open to your dreams, people. Embrace that distant shore. Because our mortal journey is over all too soon.Kelly Hadden

This memorial website was created, to remember my Father, Edward William Nipper, who was born in Illinois, on February 13, 1943, and passed away on January 22, 2008.

There will be no more pain.

You are at peace forever now.

Watch over all of us.

Rest in peace.

We will never forget you.

I have so many great memories of my Dad that to list them here would take a lifetime.  I will share with all of you just some of my most favorite in no particular order:

Shoveling the sidewalks and driveway and then going to A & W for hot chocolate.

Getting surprised with a brand new bicycle (even though it wasn't Christmas or my birthday).

Family dinners with some of his favorite meals like pepper burgers or spaghetti.

I inherited his love for Miracle Whip sandwiches (Thanks, Dad!)

He taught me to drive using a manual transmission (a.k.a. stick shift) AMC Pacer, of all things!

Spending each summer as a child either at the beach bungalow in Sea Bright, NJ or in our backyard pool where he taught me to swim and dive.

When we would meet for lunch in NYC when I still worked there and we'd go to White Castle (Thanks again, Dad!)

Another White Castle memory: Buying a sackful of burgers and fries and eating them in the back of the station wagon as we watched movies at the drive-in on Route 9.

My wedding day and being so happy he was there.

My visits to Maryland and dinners with he and Pauline.

Like I said, so many memories I could go on forever.

The last time I spoke to him just a week before he passed away, he called to say he'd just gotten the recent pictures I sent of Isabelle and Nicholas and to tell me I'd addressed the envelope wrong (what did Mommy used to call him, 'Technical Ted?') so to be sure I remember for the next time.  Unfortunately I didn't know then that there wouldn't be a next time.

Dad, I will miss you more than you'll ever know.  I hope you're looking down on all of us and watching over us, guiding us.  I'll end this now the same way we ended all of our phone calls by saying, 'I love you.'

I will always remember the warm welcome he gave me at our wedding.

His sense of humor.

The first time he met Chase in person, Chase sitting on his lap, talking to 'grandpa'.

The stories he told about when Bill was young. He made me laugh.

I will always remember that warm handsome smile....that same smile Bill has!

My memories of my father were the summers we spent almost everyday together doing stained glass art and taking care of the chickens in the backyard. Those were great memories for me and I'll never forget those times and what couldve been.

Michelle Nipper

I remember our summers in the pool and going over to A&W to eat.

I remember the great spaghetti you used to make.

I remember the way you used to squeeze my knee whenever I was in the front seat of the car with you.  Even when I was 20 years old !

I remember our trip to Florida and what a great time we had.  Even at the alligator farm.

I remember catching sunnies and blow fish with those old bamboo fishing poles we used.

I will always remember, my Daddy.

Kelly Hadden

My memories of Daddy are, when he taught me to ride a bike.

He taught me to swim.

He taught me how to fish.

Going to Valley Spring Lake in Wayne NJ.

Laying on the raft, in the lake, and enjoying the sounds of the waterfall.

Going to the beach in Sea Bright NJ.

Every Christmas, where we would wake up, and see a huge pile of presents!

Having him give me away at  my wedding.

He used to like to eat hot tamalies, and I was the only one who would eat them with him.

He also would eat green hot peppers, and I would eat them with him too.

I still do eat them ocassionally, and when I do, I always think of him.

I remember playing Monopoly with him and Mommy, at the dining room table, sometimes the game would last for 4 hours!

I also enjoyed doing 1,000 piece jig saw puzzles with him, again, on the dining room table.

Playing with him and Max the dog, watching him train him, and how great Max would obey him.

Our trip to Disney world, and riding in the huge motor home.

When he lived with us, he was a very good Father.

He was always involved, and interested in everything we did.

He always was a good provider, we had everything we ever needed, sometimes he worked two jobs, to be able to give us what we needed.

Kissing him goodnight, every night, and him always saying, "I love you."

I remembering him carrying me up to bed, when I would fall asleep, watching tv, in the living room.

His subtle, dry, sense of humor, which always made me laugh.

His handsome face, and always feeling so lucky, and proud, that I had such a handsome Father.

I remember him carrying me to the bathroom, when I was 5, because I had Scarlet Fever, and was too weak, and sick, to get up myself.

All of these memories I will never forget.

I will cherish each and every one.

I have always loved him, and always will.

I know he's in a better place now, and there is no more pain, emotional or physical.

I know I will see him again, one day.

Dad, rest in peace, and know that you are loved.

Goodbye

For now.

Darlene Nipper Daughter In-Law February 25, 2008

My deepest condolences to my husband Bill, his sister's and the whole family. Ed was not only a father, but husband, father In-Law and grandfather too.  I will always remember the warm welcome he gave me on our wedding day.  I will also remember his dry sense of humor.  He made me laugh alot and I see alot of Ed in Bill. I'm glad I had the opportunity to have known him and also glad Chase got to spend some time with him.  Bill carries on Eds gift in Stained Glass Art, his sense of humor and he has that same warm handsome smile.

Ed lives on in our hearts and memories. It saddens me deeply and he will be missed. May he rest in the comfort of God's arms.    Love Darlene

"Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles. I’ve only gone to rest for a while. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt and given me relief. So dry your eyes and remember me, not as I am but as I used to be. Because, I will remember you all and look on with a smile. Understand in your hearts, I’ve only gone to rest a while. As long as I have the love of you, I can live my life in the hearts of all of you."

It is with my deepest sympathies and sorrow that I send my condolences to my dear wife Michelle and her family on the loss of their Father.  I will always regret that I never had the chance to meet him, so that he could share some of the most sacred memories of your time together.  I will have to remember your Dad from the pictures from your childhood that I am sure you all miss dearly.  May his soul rest in peace.  With Love, Igor.
